Round #4/6, Magny-Cours (France) | 8 & 9 September 2018
The 308 Racing Cup competitors have an appointment at the Magny-Cours circuit next weekend for the 4th round of the season and the return to action of the PEUGEOT Sport customer racing competition. Currently leading the championship by 42 points, Teddy Clairet is certainly the man to beat. He won 4 times from 6 races before the summer break and only Julien Briché managed to defeat him. The scene is set for the return.

  • The fast and technical Magny-Cours track will allow the PEUGEOT 308 Racing Cup to display all its qualities and competitiveness, and the competitors to seek more performance on a well-known circuit.

  • Big sister of the PEUGEOT 308 Racing Cup and the prize offered to the future winner of the overall classification at the end of the 2018 season, the PEUGEOT 308 TCR continues to shine on the international tracks and has accumulated, in addition to its title of European TCR Champion in 2017, two victories in the 2018 FIA WTCR World Championship at the hands of Aurélien Comte in Zandvoort (Netherlands) and Mato Homola at Villa Real (Portugal) and a win in TCR Europe 2018 with Julien Briché at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium).

  • Teddy Clairet (Pussier Automobiles by Clairet Sport # 20), current leader of the 308 Racing Cup championship, also dominates the ‘junior’ category (under 25). The defending champion, Julien Briché (JSB Competition # 4), maintains his 2nd place in the 2018 Championship, despite a difficult start to the season.

  • In the juniors, the performances of Florian Briché (JSB Competition # 24) at the beginning of the year did not go unnoticed, after he finished at the foot of the general podium in Dijon. Stéphane Ventaja is the most feared gentleman this year, already winning 5 times.

QUOTE, UNQUOTE…

Teddy CLAIRET – PUSSIER AUTOMOBILES BY CLAIRET SPORT driver
Current championship leader & 1st in Junior category
"I cannot wait to be at Magny-Cours. I feel ready for the start and motivated to finish this season of 308 in style! There are still 3 rounds and 6 races to go and I cannot make any mistakes because my opponents are on the lookout. We had the time to work on the car during the summer, but with my brother Jimmy, we also enjoyed the holidays while playing sports in the sun! "

Julien BRICHE – JSB COMPETITION driver
Reigning champion & 2nd in 2018 standings
"The holidays were welcome because between TCR Europe, the Rencontres PEUGEOT Sport and the 308 Racing Cup, the timing is a little tight to properly prepare for my races. We took advantage of this break to work on the setup of our PEUGEOT for the demands of Magny-Cours, with the objective of returning even more competitive. Hopefully it will pay off, and I will be able to gain some big points."

David POUGET – GPA RACING driver
3rd in the championship
"So far we were not in the right rhythm. We were sorely lacking in speed, especially at Spa. But in Dijon, the last race before the holidays, I finished on the 3rd step of the podium twice and I recovered 3rd place in the championship, which is satisfactory but not extraordinary. We stay focused and take the races one after another, because in theory everything can still happen."
