AFTER QUALIFYING 2:

Timmy HANSEN (5th overall after Day 1)
PEUGEOT 208 WRX Evo #21
“Most of all, I’ve really enjoyed the atmosphere today: it’s great to walk around among this huge number of fans and everyone has so much passion for the sport. As for our own performance, we were a bit unlucky having to go first in Qualifying 1, as the track improved quite a lot, then in Qualifying 2 we were fifth, but we made up a couple of places. So, from my point of view, I’m happy that we extracted the maximum we could out of ourselves and the car today under the circumstances.”

Sebastien LOEB (6th overall after Day 1)
PEUGEOT 208 WRX Evo #9
“It’s not been an easy day. We had quite a bad position in the opening draw, which meant that we had a lot of traffic all day and we were always in the thick of an intense fight. But we made the best of what we had. We need to find a better start position, so we need to push hard to try and get some points. The plan is to do something good tomorrow.”

Kevin Hansen (9th overall after Day 1)
PEUGEOT 208 WRX #71
“I’d describe our Quali 2 as messy: we got hit at the first corner from more or less every direction – everyone was getting a bit excited – and I went very wide: in fact, I thought I had a puncture. From there, even though there was no real damage on the car , it was quite hard to make up ground, although I managed to get one place back. In conclusion, it wasn’t great but a long way from being a disaster too: we’ve showed we have the pace.”

AFTER QUALIFYING 1:

Sebastien Loeb (4th)
PEUGEOT 208 WRX Evo #9
“Generally, I’m happy with how it went: it’s clear that everyone is very close and we’re in the fight. We’re pretty much where we expected to be, the car is performing well, so we’re going to try and move forward from here.”

Timmy HANSEN (5th)
PEUGEOT 208 WRX Evo #21
“It was a really good run for me, so I’m pleased because there was nothing more I could have done: I drove my four best laps of the weekend so far. Of course maybe the track was improving for everyone else afterwards, but in any case that’s out of my control. No complaints at all from my side, so I’m happy. ”

Kevin Hansen (7th)
PEUGEOT 208 WRX #71
“It’s always nice to be at front of your race, so there’s not much you can say to add to that! I’m beginning to feel a bit more confident with the car now: we struggled slightly in practice, but we made a few small adjustments and step by step we are finding our pace. Everything felt good so I’m looking forward to going again now!”
