PEUGEOT SPORT DENMARK SECURES TOP FRENCH DRIVER
Peugeot Sport is ready with French reinforcements for the upcoming double header in TCR Denmark on
September 5th and 6th.
The Danish motorsport fans, who know their history with standard cars, may remember when French Julien Briché last visited Danish asphalt. Back then in 2006, it was in DTC for Peugeot - and now Briché returns for the same brand in TCR Denmark. Since then, the paths of his career have led the 39-year-old Frenchman further in touring cars with Peugeot, for whom he took the European Championship silver in the 2019 season of the TCR Europe Touring Car Series. But just as important, Briché has been an important piece in the development of Peugeot's 308 GTI TCR - and this is exactly the car he is now coming to Denmark to help Peugeot's investment in TCR Denmark with. Peugeot Sports' Brian Madsen is pleased that he has managed to bring the strong Frenchman to Denmark in connection with the double race weekend at FDM Jyllandsringen on the 5th and 6th of September. “It is really great to have a talent like Julien in our project, and even though he may not be the most wellknown name in our latitudes, he is a driver who has largely set the tone in TCR, and who has helped in developing the car. That we can get such a big name for this, with support from Peugeot Sport down in France is fantastic for us.”
EXPERTISE FOR DANISH RACES
At the same time; it is an advantage that Brian Madsen believes will have a decisive impact on the French brands continued efforts. “It is important to get French support for the development. It is no secret that the Danish races are different from the somewhat larger circuits that TCR runs on in the world - and that expertise is worth its weight in gold for us. He is unbelievably talented, and it is knowledge we must benefit from until September”, Brian Madsen explains and continues: “For me, it is a pat on the shoulder for our investment that we get to welcome such potential. We must try it. TCR Denmark has come really far from the start and it has been fantastic to see the outside support that the series has received. We are just looking forward to getting on the field again”, he concludes. TCR Denmark returns on September 5th and 6th at FDM Jyllandsringen.
