208 WRX ROUND #5 | LYDDEN HILL (Great Britain)
Round five of the 2017 FIA World Rallycross Championship takes Team Peugeot Hansen to Lydden Hill, Kent, England, where the sports very first meeting was held 50 years ago. Sébastien Loeb and Timmy Hansen will be keen to extend the team’s run of three straight podium finishes to add to the anniversary festivities.

Kenneth Hansen, Team Principal
“I have lots of personal memories of Lydden Hill. As a driver, I have had some great times there, and some that were not so great! I think it should suit our chassis and I am curious to see how we compare with our opponents. The weather could well upset everybody’s plans but we have prepared thoroughly and we hope to claim the win we came so close to collecting in Belgium.”

Sébastien Loeb (driver, PEUGEOT 208 WRX #9)
“Lydden Hill is a circuit I enjoy. It is quite fast with some big drifts through the first turn on the loose. You exit it at speed but you then need to brake heavily right after it. It’s a great place to race and I hope I succeed in bouncing back after my frustrating weekend in Belgium.”

Timmy Hansen (driver, PEUGEOT 208 WRX #21)
“Lydden Hill is one of my favourite tracks. When I switched from circuit racing to rallycross, it suited my driving style perfectly; the way I liked to brake late. It was at Lydden Hill that I took part in my first event as a full-fledged rallycross driver. I have always felt fast there but I have yet to win at Lydden Hill. That’s a box I would like to tick this year after coming so close to victory two weeks ago.”

Kevin Hansen (driver, PEUGEOT 208 WRX #71)
“Lydden Hill is a high-speed circuit that hosted the first ever rallycross event 50 years ago. I am thrilled at the idea of competing on such a landmark occasion. I’ve got my own share of personal memories of the place. It’s where I started my career working with my engineer Graham Rodemark and I even qualified for the final there last year. My mechanics did a superb job repairing my car in time for me to race this weekend following my woes at Mettet. I aim to thank them by scoring a top result.”
